I really respect her for excelling in such a male dominated profession. Now, Formula 1 needs a really great female driver.

I'm glad to see that she won for the first time. I've seen her in a couple of interviews lately and she seems very down to earth. She's very pretty.

good for her, i suppose, but i'd be interested to see what the outcome would've been if she had the extra 20+ pounds of weight that her male competitors do...when a minimum car weight was proposed, people made a big deal about the fact that she has much less body weight than her male counterparts, but i haven't heard anyone mention it after she won a race that came down to fuel milage...

^ do they weigh the cars with the driver in it? I don't know much about Indycar racing.

@ Spectre - Keep in mind also that while she's at an advantage with the lower weight, she is at a disadvantage with the lack of upper body strength that her male competitors have so perhaps it all balances out? There's a lot of force in those cars and you have to be strong to hold on and control the wheel.

She looked hot on Letterman the other night. But I didn't like her personality. Gave off the vibe that she would be a stuck up BIATCH in real life. Which is understandable though, as a lot of women who have to actively compete against men eventually develop that type of personality.

Larry B - The Letterman interview had the opposite effect on me, since I thought she was BIATCH before the interview, but I kind of liked her after the interview. Oh well.

Actually, road racers don't use much upper body strength. You brace yourself in the corners by smashing your left foot onto the dead pedal. (That's why her left calf looks different from her right . . . It does all the work. If she braced herself by hanging onto the steering wheel [not too smart], her upper arms would have far less fat on them).

Not that I have any driving experience other than shuttling the cars to and from the garage area. :)

@ matso - I am not into racing at all but my ex was and he would always talk about how the drivers have huge necks from trying to keep their heads upright with the G forces behind the wheel. I guess that's what I meant by upper body strength. I think Danica is really attractive but the first thing I noticed about her was the size of her neck (big for a woman), although being a female, she will never develop the same sized muscles that a male would.

And ya, I have no experience with race car driving either, unless you count my mad dashes in the mornings when I am running late! Ha ha.

The fact that she is an White American Woman whose main skill is NOT shopping or sitting on her as doing some worthless 9 to 5 job, makes her freaking hot to me. I wish there were more WAM's like her, ambitious little bitches who don't think it's their birthright to be treated like pricesses or automatically go into the entertainment industry or find the nearest stiff dick with a wallett to take care of them. Danica rules, the rest of you WAM's eat ass.

They actually do add weight to the cars based on some determination of what the driver "should" weigh. This is done not just for her but for other male drivers who weigh less than that target. Although I think they first brought it up because of her.

i'm not saying she's not talented, she obviously is, but i doubt she'd get half the press she does if she wasn't as good looking...personally, among motorsports babes, i prefer Ashley Force to Danica...
