I just went and saw the video on youtube and MY GOD she looks good, it actually pains me.
I've always wondered what it is about Doutzen Kroes I find not so attractive and I worked it out, she reminds me of a girl I went to school with, who was very rough around the edges in a bad way.

VS angel status degrading? Like it or not, it's the most coveted place in modeling. Throughout the years only 19 models have made it there and most of them are modeling hall-of-famers.

You're the one who's ignorant if you don't think VS is the best place to be for a model. No other stable provides the level of job security, exposure and money that VS provides. On top of that VS puts their angels on a pedestal and treats them like queens (listen to some of the current angels talking about their relationship with VS). What other place do you get to walk in the most expensive (and watched) runway show in the world and wear the world's most expensive bras? And that's just a bonus.

L'Oreal usually doesn't offer long-term contracts and relies more on movie stars and singers than actual models. She was going to get replaced sooner or later.
VS is for amateurs? You call Helena Christensen, Stephanie Seymour, Karen Mulder, Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Laetitia Casta, Daniela Pestova, Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell etc. amateurs? They're some of the biggest names the modeling industry has ever seen.

Because you're an idiot who has no idea what you're talking about. "going from like harpers to VS" shows your idiocy. Miranda Kerr just did Harpers and she's a VS angel. Adriana just did Vogue Paris and she's a VS angel. Karolina did Vouge USA while being an angel. They do that kind of stuff for extra exposure and to add to their resumes. VS pays the bills and provides a much more fun and interesting (not to mention safe) working environment. They get to fly all over the world, shoot on exotic beaches, go on talk shows, do autograph signings, shoot TV commercials, make superbowl appearances, receive Walk of Fame stars, wear million-dollar bras and strut their stuff in the biggest runway show in the world etc. VS takes care of everything and the models don't have to worry about being without a job tomorrow because their contracts are long-term. High fashion is actually "low fashion" from a model's point of view. It's low pay and little to no job security and you get treated like a piece of meat. All them high fashion models want to be VS angels. And yes, of course you can go on to host your own TV show or whatever but we're talking modeling here and VS is one of the best places to be if you're a working model. Fact.

Nope, you're totally wrong here twilly. This is facts, not opinion Getting a VS contract is the HOLY GRAIL of modeling. Look at VS angels. Nearly all of them used to be high fashion model but quit all of that after they sign with Victoria secret. Karolina was actually one of the biggest high fashion model at the time, but quit and pretty much after she joined VS.Look at the top fashion models of today, Daria Werbowy, Jessica Stam, Gemma Ward etc. They would do a VS fashion show in a heart beat (and indeed Jessica Stam did). A Versace or Prada campaign pays very little and gets very little exposure compared to VS.

haha no I'm not those peeps. Are you going to tell me I'm the female forbes expert in that video I posted above as well? VS is nothing fancy in terms of the clothing or "fashion" itself. It's a huge commercial brand targeting average consumers, not a high fashion designer trying to push the envelope. But that doesn't change the fact that from a model's perspective, landing a big contract at VS is about as good as it gets. Why do you think Forbes' highest earning models list is always dominated by VS models? Go to Google Trends and compare search statistics of the VS angels to your average high fashion cloth hanger. Big fucking difference. Doutzen made an excellent career move. Enough said.

VS *is* the biggest contract in the modeling biz. They are incredibly selective, especially for Angels. If anything, it's the opposite of downgrading and Sears!

There is a difference between beauty and sexy. There are plenty of women I find beautiful who I don't find sexy, or sexy who i don't find beautiful. Some like your Lima are both. Doutzen is boring to me, what can I say, I don't see her and want to tear off her clothes. I wouldn't kick her out of bed, but I wouldn't cross the street to get her into it.

yea we've talked about that before and I agree about the sexy / beauty part. I'm not even a huge fan of Doutzen (like you I prefer 'sexy') but I have objectivity enough to see she's a good pick for VS as she adds a new dimension to their current stable of angels with her classical, almost ethereal beauty (which undoubtedly is going to appeal to a lot of potential customers). I guess to some extent I can also see why they picked Marisa. Selita is a mystery though, but I guess they were desperate for an Afro-American representative when they picked her (I just think there's better alternatives). Shrugs.
btw. Selita became an angel before Miranda so Miranda is actually more "latest" than Selita. You disagree with Miranda too? :)
