I'll try to post again. Hearing who celebs endorse does get tiring but they are trying to get people to vote which is a good thing. It's admirable that she said she wouldn't mind be taxed more. Higher taxes is not socialism. If it was then the U.S. was socialist fom 1917-1986 when the top bracket was 50-94% except 1925-31.

I'm glad you agree with me about Lexi Belle, MCIT. I know most people think porn stars are gross, all used looking and dirty, and it's just not true. I am a guy who likes women, not girls. I post on here as regularly as any other average person who frequents the bastardly. I personally don't find Lexi attractive at all. Not because she's a porn star, but because she's not attractive to me. Neither is Hayden P for that matter. It's just a matter of different taste and preference is all.
As far as MCIT goes, he's absolutely right. The President is 1/3 of the federal government but he's by far the least powerful. Each candidate can claim to want to cut taxes, make health care more affordable, win the war, but they are only as powerful and able as the lawmakers in congress who agree with their point of view for the moment. Anyone who is running for President and believes that he(she) can single handedly make the changes that the two candidates are professing to make is pretty full of something. But, just the same, I think it is unfair to blame W or even Slick Willy for all of the issues facing our country today.
I would compare being president to being Head Football coach. The football coach can make some individual decisions here and there, but it's the rest of the team who really holds the power to make the changes and carry out the game plan.

While I agree that congress does run the country, the president does hold the must power of any elected offical. It's the one person that can truly make a difference. There have been president's in the past that have managed to redirect the country in a positive direction and I can only hope the next one can do the same.

Here in Brazil we have the upper middle and higher classes complaining, whining and moaning against the Government (which originally and ideologically is of left wing) due to their politics of "minimal income" adpoted in some poor regions, a policy that helped to secure a minimal conditions of existence but does not cost to much for the government
Meanwhile they complain about the taxes (which ranges from 15 to 44 % of the annual income, but, due to the deductions, almost no one pays exactly the 44 % charged) but this same upper middle and higher classes are the leaders in tax evasion (mostly through loopholes in the laws) and this evasion costs from 3 to 5 times more than the cost of the social program of "minimal income" cited above
What I want to mean is, there must be the same type of hypocrisy there, and this should be defeated

"The state of the country" right now actually affects young people less than others in general, since they're not heavily invested in the stock market or a particular career yet. I think Hayden is right that celebrity endorsements have an impact. They make people look when they'd ignore ordinary political messages. And young people are more in touch with entertainment biz, so while stock market problems affect them less, pop culture issues affect them more.
I also think Hayden is a little full of herself, but so are most girls her age.

I believe young people were interested in the election long before the stock market crashed. Young people are currently having trouble finding jobs, so the economy does have an impact on them too. They may also have trouble getting loans for college at this time. Celebrity endorsements may have a small impact on younger voters, but for celebrities to take credit for the young voters this election is just ignorant and self serving. I would like to believe young voters are interested in this election because it does have an impact on their lives and not just because a celebrity wears an Obama t-shirt.
