WHAT DO YOU MEAN RELAXED MUSLIM??!

Ive said it before and i'll say it again. There aint no such thing as a relaxed Muslim!

relaxed Muslim means someone who isnt uptight, who is open-minded, who can still wear short stuff unlike those other Muslims you see in countries like Iraq, Iran...there are a lot of Muslims who are modern...too bad, all Muslims are known as close-minded, beheading freaks now.

yes, there is...I am from a Muslim country even though I am not religious...just because your boyfriend doesnt drink alchocol doesnt mean all Muslims are like that...so please dont act like you know them.

#6 Yeah, fair enough. But Muslims arent really allowed to drink alcohol though, right? Like it says in the qu'ran, "Through intoxicants and games of chance, Satan seeks only to cause enmity and hatred amongst you,and turn you away from the remembrance of Allah."(5.90) And "Stay away from them so you can prosper" (5.91) And yeah, i know tons of Muslims who could call themselves relaxed. They drink, do drugs, sleep around, and yet will still have the audacity to turn round and tell me i should wear modest clothing and a headscarf and preach the qu'ran to me. 'Relaxed Muslims' seem a tad bit hypocritical to me.

In short, why bother being a Muslim if your going to disreguard whats being taught?

Here is why you should bother being a Muslim and why there are different types of Muslims:

Some people take every word in Kor-an (any religion book for that case) literally and forget that it was written centuries ago. There are some that are able to interpret the writings in a religion book and apply it to today's modern world. The reason why drinking was not allowed is because when you drink, people get aggressive and lose the ability to make judgement correctly and make bad decisions (get into fights, have sex with people they barely know, etc etc)...they behave in ways that they normally would not behave. Now, if you are a logical person, you will realize that the purpose of any religion book is to guide people towards a better life that also consists of less mistakes. So if you're a responsible individual, you will know that a sip of a drink every now and then is nothing bad. Kor-an also says you have to pray 5 times a day. Kor-an also says, "there is nothing wrong killing as long as it is in defense and to right a wrong." That is exacly why you see these fanatic Muslims attack and kill Christians and others because in their own fucked up mind, they thinking they are carrying out a mission, fixing a wrong doing.

The same thing goes for any religion. BIble says you have to wait until you're married to have sex but there are tons of people who claim tobe Christians and have pre-martial sex so it's not just Islam.

and i recently found out that Kor-an says if someone has been warned over and over but still kept hurting others and interrupt the peace of other people, you can chop off their arms and legs...which sounds so wrong...now, remember, people back then were like savage animals...there was no prison system, no concept of education, no democracy, no nothing so how are you going to tame them? By using threats, by punishing them physically. An educated and relaxed Muslim is able to realize a human-being has no right to chop off another individual's arms and legs because there is prison system. That is why you see people getting their arms chopped off in countries like Iran (a country ruled by the rules in a religion book - fucking pathetic and ridiculous) because these people take the word in the book literally, forgetting it was written centuries ago but in a country like Turkey (where I'm from), there is democracy while the religion is Islam. So countries like Iran give other relaxed Muslims and Muslim countries that seperate the institution of the church and state, giving them a bad name. It is such a huge shame...it really is...Brainwashed people are so dangerous and it is amazing to see them ruling an entire country based on a religion book. Ok, now, I will shut up haha

true you cannot follow religious teachings living in the modern world, but the whole point of a religious teaching is to " escape the modern world" and to behave in a "proper way", which is obeying god's laws not by whats acceptable by the society, (which is why it isnt easy.) i agree alot of what it says in any religious book has been cut out and modified over the years, interpreted in the wrong way etc... and yes you cannot take all of it literally. but i would have to say drinking and smoking, dressing like a slut and claiming to be a Muslim, or of any other religion for that matter, is really sickening.
(not saying i know much about Muslim religion but i know alot about Hindu and from what i know they're similar)

At least she still calls herself a Muslim, I thought maybe she converted out of it or something. She must believe in the QURAN and the existence of Allah, I don't know about the rest.
