Although the authority-hating Blair Waldorf character is well-defined in the young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar the show is based on, Meester is obsessed by the chance to add pieces to the mystery.

"From the 'Gossip Girl' books, I know the characters are diverse, but somehow work together perfectly," she said. "And I see Blair as the most cultured, and flawed, in the bunch."

The dark and lovely Meester, 22, was introduced to the world of modeling and acting on a microscopic scale at the age of 6 by her mother, Constance Haas.

"She thought it would be fun for me and I said yes, because I didn't know any better," she laughed. "But when I got out of that audition room, I said that I never wanted to do that again. My mom said, 'All right. Fine.'" Source
