If there anything more undignified that an dog having to go to the bathroom in full view of the public? I take my dog on two very long walks every single day (one at 6 in the morning before work and one at around 7 in the evening when I get back from work) and she is always trying to find a hidden spot where she can do her business. She doesn't even really want me to watch her, and sometimes, when she is forced to do it in front of me for lack of a better location, she looks up at me with her big eyes and I can't help but think of all the indignities we heap upon these animals, these tiny repositories of our love, the one species on Earth other than humans that we unanimously decided make the best companions for us. My dog has very high self-esteem. She is a classy lady. She knows that she is a dog, but she demands to be treated with a modicum of respect. I wish I could give her more of what she wants, but I can't, even though I try, like when I politely leave the room as soon as she starts to lick her ass.
