I just read the quote. She doesn't deny her heritage, she just doesn't define herself by it. She was born in the US, does not speak Spanish, and Salma Hayek would probably mock Alba if she ever referred to herself as a "Latina actress."
I agree that celebrities who decry being famous are annoying, and it tends to be those who have been famous since children, they can't compare their minor inconveniences to the real shit the rest of us have to deal with. But it doesn't necessarily make her a bitch.
