I saw it a while back — I wanted to like it, but this movie really didn't do it for me. I don't know if the special effects have improved since the cut I saw, but the script is a pastiche of cliches, all we really see of the "steampunk" world is a couple of buildings and one machine (it's more of a cavepunk film), the action gets tedious pretty quickly and the characters are mostly cardboard. I like Devon and Ron Perlman, but they are basically wasted, while the ultimate "hero" guy annoyed the crap out of me.
