He's a short little bastard. The blonde guy from HSM claims to be 5'8, and he's taller than Efron. So, yeah, he's probably 5'6 or 5'7.
I've noticed that actors add 2 or 3 inches to their height. I suppose they think we don't notice that women tower over them.

I could speak for myself about being short, as I stand at 5'6" and even here in Brasil (considering we're an ethnical mix) it's a very short stature, the average height here (official numbers) is 5'5" (1,65 metres) for women and 5'9" (1,75 metres) for men, that's why I'm kinda obssesed with height, and that's why I notice

Also, as a side note, I remebered I read somewhere a text saying Brad Pitt annoyed his colleagues during Ocean's Eleven by wearing those "elevator" insoles, as they made him 3" taller, he's not short, he's almost 6", so probably with those insoles he was taller than Clooney in the set
