Flavio was pretty damn pissed yesterday. Alonso's wheel fell off after he was on pole and Piquet did squat. Renault might also be banned form the European grand prix for the incident. Flavio is more of a businessman anyways, he could care less about the sport.
Luciano Benetton gave him the job many years back because they are friends. But then Renault bought out Benetton in 2001 and didn't change the name to Renault f1 until 2002 when they were ready to advertise Renault as being the f1 team.
