Photo Credit: Bauer-GriffinHilary Swank (two-time Academy Award winner) won the Hollywood Actress Award for her work in Amelia. On receiving the award...
"I have to say it's something very surreal. But to have your work recognized? At the end of it all is something that continues to leave me speechless."
Amelia is in theaters now...

I'm still bewildered by the pics of her a while back with ginormous breasts.. it was like Haley's Comet Passing. By the time you can say: What was that? ...it was gone and never to return in your lifetime.

even with the best picture category going to 10 noms this year/doesn't seem a amelia gonna factor in things much. hell some/well plenty say all things tieing in with this movie an the oscar thing is dead.even swanks chances *gulp*
anyway she is a really good actor and shouldn't that equal better sex than a lot of 'she's hot' types that hit the front page ???

Dead and Famous Women in the Oscar Race
snippet from the article here...
"This year, especially in the Best Actress category, it feels like there are more true-ish stories being told than fictional ones. Manohla Dargis points this out in her article on all of the dead women being revived this year:
For actresses, it is no longer enough to be young and beautiful onscreen, they have to be dead and famous, too — one of history’s immortals. Filmmakers have long resurrected the dearly and notably departed with actors and actresses who flatter their memories, of course, partly because Academy members like to reward other success stories. Last year, Marion Cotillard warbled her way to the awards podium for her turn as Édith Piaf in “La Vie en Rose.” Since 2000, six of the best actress awards were for biographical performances, most of dead women. This year, Julia Child, Coco Chanel, Queen Victoria, Keats’s great love, Fanny Brawne, and now Amelia Earhart are all making a run for it."

Whoa. You could land Amelia Earhart's Lockheed L-10 Electra on Hilary Swank's forehead.
