Well..it is a Showtime show, so it's going to have "adult" language. And it's a show about a serial killer....what did you expect, a rehashing of 30something?

Adult language is fine and is one thing.
But hers seem so forced and unnatural.
It is really awkward to watch her on the show.
Also the whole relationship with the captain and Batista seems really forced and fake.
The casting on the show just seems really off.
Julie Benz seems off, and the dirty cop just is so so.
Lithgow on the the other hand is a masterful choice for the other serial killer as is the other guy for the FBI guy tracking him down.
The Asian guy is hilarious also.
Harry even though he is dead is still the second best character on the show other than Dexter.

I doubt they will be killing her off anytime soon. Seeing as how she is sleeping with the excutive producer and married to the male lead.
Also her awful potty mouth and her superficial relationships are part of her characters way of showing her insecurities.

Jennifer Carpenter is a pretty girl in desperate need of a better stylist. There is also something amusing about such a poorly-dressed woman standing next to a Taco Bell advertisement that states: "Think Outside The Bun." Haha!

Not hot, not feminine at all (too skinny for one), but Dexter is the best show on TV right now. And I don't mind her character's language, nor does it seem forced. Maybe because I tend to curse. In one episode, she had a line that was: "Mother fucking fuck." I thought it was classic.
But Keith Carradine's character is way too old for her.
