Triple H; It's not a Professional Wrestler
Yesterday was a Triple H kinda day here at "Living on the Spit"...hazy, hot, and humid. Definitely not the kinda weather that is conducive to hiking trails, but we did make it out onto the beach for a while.
There was a nice breeze, albeit very warm, and the time spent on the sand was refreshing. It reminded me how lucky we are to live in an ecosystem so majestic, so powerful, so peaceful.
These bright and vibrant trumpet blooms were everywhere singing a happy song. I always love the fact that our beach is not just sand and water, but an actual habitat that has been painstakingly preserved through education and the hard work of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Their dedicated efforts never go unnoticed.
The newly planted sea grass that is repopulated yearly, is growing high and strong, reaching to the sky amongst the wild sunflowers. It creates a strong barrier for the shore to withstand any storm that may blow through in the coming months.
What a glorious place to repair one's spirit...to feel the renewal of one's soul. I can never tire of seeing it's beauty. No matter how many times I see it it, the coast line is always changing, evolving.
Up over the hill, you can see the happiness of others enjoying a day on Willoughby Spit. I only hope these scenes make you smile and help you to search out your magical, restorative place in your world.
