Photo Credit: Bauer-Griffin"The Wrestler" took top honors at the award show last night with trophies for Best Feature, Best Male Lead (Mickey Rourke) and Best Cinematography (Maryse Alberti). I don't know how many of you bastards caught this movie, but I absolutely loved it. Now, "Slumdog Millionaire" is a great flick, but I feel like the "The Wrestler" is on a whole another level of cinema. Everything from acting to story to music was topnotch, so it's really unfortunate that it will get passed up later tonight at the Academy Awards.

This weekend belongs to Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger who is dead at 28. Heath Ledger who was still warm when the EMT arrived and the masseuse spent precious minutes talking on the telephone…FOUR TIMES, to Mary Kate Olsen, instead of getting him help. Four phone calls ! It is an insult to his memory that this creature attended this event with Michelle Williams sitting right there in the audience. Michelle was there because she was nominated for her fine acting. This creature was there to promote herself. She is useless and contributes nothing to society. Yet, here she is, business as usual, when Heath is gone. And he will never make another movie, nor see his daughter grow up, nor live to know how valuable and how loved he was.
