Well, yes and no. I mean if they had let them marry, the first gay divorce would only be a few short years away. Marriage ends in only two ways, Death And Divorce...and all things must come to an end. California is notorious for screwing someone in divorce court. Maybe that's for the best here since people on this board have extreme difficulties with the truth. Just read d55's statement, the US has not invaded Palestine, that was Israel. And second a many of the civilians killed in Iraq, are killed by other Arabs. It's the insurgents who are using truck bombs to blow up markets, and people online to vote etc.
If you are against an issue, in this case the war in Iraq stick to the facts of which there are plenty, such as no WMD's od any quantity, tenuous at best link between Hussein and Al Qaeda, poor execution of couter insurgency etc.

Did you just teleport in from 2004? The United States has invaded precisely two countries in this generation: Afghanistan and Iraq. Of these, only Iraq was unjustified, and pretty much everybody knows now that it was a horrible mistake (the current president has consistently opposed it). I don't know what US invasion of Palestine you're thinking of. All in all, the United States is not feeling very warlike right now, so protesting its nonexistent warmongering would be fucking retarded.
On the other hand, I have an American friend who can't live in the States with his husband because the US won't recognize their marriage. This is a pretty goddamn fundamental right of citizenship, and it ACTUALLY DOES MATTER to him that he has to choose between his home and his love because of our Puritanical laws.

Having said that, i don't know why the US has not legalized gay marriage yet...the US has no ethics whatsoever (refer to above!!!) so why are they so uptight when it comes to letting 2 fags marry? The idea that the Jews "invaded Palestine" is a myth spread by racists. They legitimately bought land, Arabs from the surrounding countries invaded and tried to kill them, they fought back, they won. It's like if I walked up and stabbed you and then started crying that you stole my knife with your chest. If the Arab nations would stop trying to kill the Jews, there would be so much less pain in the world. (I'm not a Jew and I think Israel does some pretty fucked up things too, but the Muslim nations have very clearly been the aggressors from the beginning.)
Additionally, I don't know what the fuck you want me to do about humans killing each other. It's been happening since before there was written history. I do what I can to avoid harming others. The gay rights issue, though, I actually can help. I have a voice in my state's politics. That's why I spend my time supporting that.

Yes, but the thing is, Israel doesn't WANT to treat them like shit. I really believe that Israel would like to coexist with its neighbors, but the problem is that the Palestinians won't stop trying to blow them off the map. "Who was there first" is irrelevant. Accusing the Israelis of being terrorists because their parents bought land there is no more reasonable than accusing d55 of being a terrorist because her ancestors came here much later than mine. The Israelis just wanted a place to stay. It's the others in the region who decided to turn it into a war.
