Certain parts of that interview are seriously painful to watch b/c Jimmy Fallon's seems to be trying so hard yet falls on his face each time. After watching his first couple shows, I've come to really appreciate Conan O'Brien's comedic genius, so by throwing Jimmy Fallon in the cage, NBC better have one of the following: A) Low expections and/or 2) Lots of patience.
Low expections because let's admit it, it's gonna be hard, if not impossible, to compete with Conan's spontaneous wit. And, patience b/c at Jimmy Fallon current pace to discover a comfortable niche, it could take at least couple months. Fortunately for him, he has a lot of famous (and loyal) friends willing to show their support.

Fallon is not going to last. NBC will give him about a year to find his groove, but if that doesn't happen, they'll look for a replacement.
Yeah, it's only been two shows. But it's already obvious Fallon doesn't have the charisma to host a show.

Letterman and Conan weren't so smooth when they started their talk show careers on NBC either.
NBC is really patient. Carson Daly still shows up late night. And when Poker After Dark comes on I know I've had too much coffee.
