Why Didn't Kim Kardashian Attend The MET Gala Event?

These were snapped at the Hennessy Black event last night.I know none of you bastards really give a shit where Kim Kardashian's ass was partying the night of the MET Gala this past weekend, but it's a valid question to explore.
Did Kim cheap out and skip the event b/c she didn't want to donate a few thousand to a great cause or was she snubbed by the MET and failed to get an invitation?! All we know right now is that Kim was in NYC when the big celebrity-packed Gala went down, but failed to show up.
Anyway, as for these pics, they were last night at the "Done Different" launch for Hennessy Black in New York City. Here's more info:
