i love her but she does try too hard. :/ it saddens me because she IS talented. i know people may not take her seriously because they think she's just some jaunty, attention-needy pop artist but she can sing her ass off, she plays piano and writes all her own lyrics. i think she is creative but wants to be distinct and aberrant so badly, it comes off as contrived.

I feel the same way. It's like she doesn't have to do all this.
And when you see old pictures of the girl, she's not even bad looking. She's cute in a New York Italian way.
My belief is that she's trying to be '80s Madonna, back when she wore all that crazy shit and had girls dressing like her. Hopefully, she'll come into her groove like Madge did and kinda tone it down, at least from a "fashion" standpoint.
