Photo Credit: WENNShakira was amongst the attendees and honorees of the "40 Principales Awards 2011" held in Madrid over the weekend. Also in attendance were Enrique Iglesias and Jessie J. Shakira received two awards, Most Influential Artist and Best Foreign Artist. Prior to the show she was quoted to saying:
"I'm so happy to be here now, this is Spain's night, the night of a country I like so much, and I'm really happy to be at the gala of prizes so important for music.
"I hope they give me some good news tonight so I can celebrate tomorrow." [Source]

Not that I care much, but if you are going to call Shakira a midget, you should consider she is taller than all the celebrities I am going to list now: Alyssa Milano, Elisabeth Shue, Lady Gaga, Kristin Kreuk, Nelly Furtado, Hilary Duff, Patricia Arquette, Paula Abdul, Lilly Alen, Eva Longoria, Rachel Bilson, Elisha Cutbert, Melisa Joan Hart, Gloria Estefan, Holly Hunter, Cristina Milian, Emma Roberts, Kristin Cavallari, Adele, Lea Michele, Carrie Fisher, Ellen Page, Alexa Vega, Judi Dench, Kylie Minogue, the Olsen twins, and a long etcetera. So to be fair you should always refer to everyone under 5'3 as "midgets".

Shakira has always been called a sexy midget on this site. It's nothing personal, just a Bastardly inside joke.
The thing about Shakira and most of the girls that you posted is that they all look short. Even when they are standing by themselves they have proportions that make them look short (whether they are or are not). People like Kristin Cavallari may be short, but if you look at a picture of just her you would never know it because of her proportions.
