As per its website, the Wayuu Taya Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2002 to help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous communities while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs. Music industry mogul Russell Simmons was also in attendance, so you know he was scoping out the NYC socialite hottie landscape because let's admit it, he's gonna move on from Venezuelan Patricia Velasquez one of these days. Judging by her past conquests, I'm pretty sure Padma Lakshmi would be down for some of Russel's sugar sunshine.
