The 3,900 square foot secluded home sits atop a small bluff at the end of a gated private drive. The home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, panoramic views of the city, and a pool with jacuzzi. Kristen has 6 films set for release in 2012, so she's doing her best to get back in the money game!

Her career has been doing great for years. I doubt it's being foreclosed for any reason other then it's an underwater mortgage.

I'm willing to bet that just her tool shed is bigger then my house..but IDK..seems to me that the house itself doesn't look that expensive, not for 3.1. mil anyway..maybe 1 or 1.1 at least.

It's all about location. A 1 million dollar house in nyc would look like a tool shed compared to ones in most other places.

It really doesn't seem that large in comparison to a lot of stars homes. It's the location that makes it expensive. I like Kristen though and hope she makes a mint with all her upcoming movies.

It is also the property size. A lot of that wooded area is probably hers as well.
But you're probably right. My guess is that she has an underwater mortgage. Basically, the value of the mortgage is greater than the value of the home. So while she could lose money with every mortgage payment, she'd rather just stop the bleeding and let it default.

She should have been able to pay that off by now. $300,000 a year in mortgage payments is a killer though. That will do it.
