Red Carpet: Clive Davis & Recording Academy's 2012 Pre-Grammy Gala

Despite Whitney Houston's death yesterday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton, the pre-Grammy festivities rolled on---even at the very hotel the late pop superstar was found dead (inside her hotel room bathtub). Aside from the drugged-out lifestyle over the past decade, for someone to go from the armpit of America's inner city (Newark, NJ) and call it quits inside the Beverly Hilton, that's not too bad, right?

I gotta admit, there were some big names missing on the red carpet, but that's completely acceptable considering the circumstances. Here's a selection of notable attendees at last night's pre-Grammy gala thrown by Clive Davis & the Recording Academy. The Beverly Hilton was awfully busy last night, with the fourth floor eerily buzzing with a police investigation and the hotel's main hall in party-mode celebrating not only tonight's Grammy Awards, but also Whitney Houston's life & music career.
