What Was Your Take On Ricky Gervais @ 2012 Golden Globes?

Photo Credit: Splash News OnlineI feel like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association did the old bait & switch. Expectations were real high---maybe too high---for Ricky Gervais to rip on all A-listers in attendance, but producers seriously limited his airtime---almost to the point where you're wondering whether he'd ever make a return to the podium. The other possibilty is the scenario in which Ricky was paid a shit load of cash to make fun of people that nobody really gives a shit about (i.e. Kim Kardashian), but considering he has a bigger stash than most people in attendance makes this scenario very unlikely. Only other logical explanation is that expectations were inflated to the point where he could do nothing but disappoint. Plus, how many times can you make fun of Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie in a single night and still get the laughs?
Regardless of what happened on the show, I'm still a huge Ricky fan and I hope he makes a return next year. Redemption, baby!!

I thought he was pretty funny, but you could tell that Gervais wasn't being as harsh as last year, even though he'd never admit it.
Funniest moments of the night go to Seth Rogen saying he was concealing a massive erection while presenting next to Kate Beckinsale, as well as Clooney joking about the size of Michael Fassbender's dong.

I thought Gervais did a great job. They probably told him if you're going to make fun of people in the room, make it more obvious joking rather than sound like a straight putdown. Also, anyone not in the room is ok to make fun of however you want.
