When we first heard this might happen Monday afternoon it sounded too good to be true: The Stooges are going to do Madonna songs at the ceremony? Whaaat?
But it did happen. The band, which formed in Ann Arbor in the 1960s, did "Burning Up" and "Ray of Light," two favorites from Madonna, who lived here as a University of Michigan student in the 1970s. And it was -- great. Just great. They sounded terrific. And Iggy closed with a hilarious, deadpan quote from "Like a Virgin." [Blog M-Live]

Funny. I caught her old "Material Girl" video on TV yesterday which brought back fond memories of spanking it many a time as a young fledgling back in the day. She was quite the piece of ass back then. Then, tragedy struck. Sometime in the mid to late 90's she started packing on the mascara Tammy Faye Baker style which makes her look like a performer in a transvestite stage review. Plus she does that kooky annoying kabbalah. But, she has that cool gap in her grill with which she can squirt a stream of water about 30 feet.

I agree with d55. She wasn't attractive or talented, but she had sex appeal and stage presence. I wasn't a huge fan. She's so old now! You have to admire her, though. She's been around for a long time, and has seen and done everything. Albeit, she sucks at most of it.
