Wesley Snipes & His Crack Whore Issues

This issue all comes down to if NY has personal jurisdiction over Mr. Snipes. Personal jurisdiction can be found using the traditional method under Pennoyer, if he was served in NY, domiciled in NY, or consented to jurisdiction in NY. If they are not found in the traditional way, you can turn to a minimum contacts analysis. If he has continuous and systematic contacts - which he probably does, if it was foreseeable that he would be hailed there, if he has availed himself to the privleges and benefits of the state, or if there was a single cause of action that gave rise to NY, NY has personal jurisdiction over him. Dear Glen,

Earlier this month, you reported that Robert Beckman's response to the Wesley Snipes lawsuit was that they did not believe Lanise Pettis but they were required to act on all Complaints. Are we to understand that it is incumbent upon an Indiana Prosecutors office to abandon common sense.

If I were to walk into his office wearing a tinfoil hat and claim that Elvis was stalking me, would he move to have the man exhumed?

I did a Google search on Lanise Pettis (the mother) and it immediately provided the link to read her actual statement as well as the investigator's report. I downloaded her statement and I found it pathetically painful to listen to.

Frankly, I could not possibly care less if Mr. Snipes is "Baby Daddy" to every illegitimate child in the "Hood," so long as he supports them. He can marry Dan Rather for all I care. It is, however, news to me that her family and friends testified that Robert Beckman, and the lawyer who started this nonsense, Priscilla Beckman, who just happens to be his wife, knew that Lanise Pettis was demented, but pursued the case against Mr. Snipes anyway, apparently just for the publicity.

Personally, I am disgusted. I do not know whether Robert Beckman believes that the deliberate victimization of an innocent man is actually excusable, or if he is just making excuses for the irresponsible actions of his wife, but what I want to know is why has this not been dropped even now?

As it turns out, ODB (Old Dirty 'Blade') is not the father of Lanise Pettis' child. Now can somebody tell this cat to put out a decent movie that doesn't go straight to DVD?????

Though this is such a late posting, I had to just remark. It is so sad when you all are so quick to jumping the gun and believing that Snipes is guilty. As Bubbles indicated... the final outcome of this CRACK WHORE/BABY DADDY situation is that Snipes had to hire an investigator who found the baby's REAL father. Case dropped. Give the brothas a break!

A man of science does not attempt to prove an absolute point, that's what radicals like Pat Robertson, the anti-abortion lobby, the residents of san francisco, and NYC Democrats do. However, I think it's fair to say that a great deal of the behaviors of black men and asians are biological. What's even more interesting than the behavior of black men and its causes, is the refusal/disinterest of the media to touch on such issues.
