Gillian Anderson's Freaky New Photoshoot

The lighting is absolutely horrid and the "film" color is way too cool. It's too harsh on a face that is over 30. She looks horrible. Under these conditions, it's hard to tell if she has any attractive merit. I like the tattoo on the inside of her wrist, though. Scully wouldn't have had that.

Yeah she rocks. These are bad pictures. She's definitly aged but she looks fantastic.

She just got major critical aclaim for a british mini series she did that she is likely to win an emmy for. She was amazing. I think she'll be showing up in many critically acclaimed movies, she's proving herself to be a good actress. She picked a good time to resurface also, we don't think of her as scully anymore as much... and she looks different. It was smart to take down time out of the mainstream eye.

She appears to have the Lohan Syndrom. Same expression in every picture. Also, she looked MUCh better with red hair.

Her body looks good, but she's always had the creepy sicko look. That's why she got her part in X-files anyways. But I think she looks good for her age and she's very brave to take pictures with that awful light.

The bastardly comment was so harsh! Gillian is a damn great actress. And she is by no means old! And those pics were artsy fartsy, some people happen to be into that. You expect every female actress to jump around in a thong on a photo shoot? Geeez. What's up with Hollywood? Does it really expect anyone over 35 to hide into oblivion? We're in the year 2006 but it seems that the cave man mentality still prevails, what's sad is that I read completely unjustified and deragatory comments here from women.

I can't imagine anyone better suited for Dr. Scully, I loved the X-files that show!

Oh gosh, WTF, I wonder what happened in these pics, she is only 36 for heaven's sake, there are much older artists such as Michelle Pfeiffer or Sandra Bullock or Haly Berry that look right now as her daughters.

She is indeed one of my favorite actresses, probably ranking among the top three but I have to worry about her health. Lohan syndrome indeed.

Good Lord. Some of you people posting here just like to find fault, a lot. Poor self esteem and childish. GA was super slender for her part as Lady D in Bleak house, required. She's back in fine form and thank god, is not defined by looks only, even though she is a naturally beaufifull person physically and character wise. People posting negatively should do a little checking before they go all neanderthall here - recent photos and accounts of her acting, charity work and over -all quality abound on the net. Check it out. Then get a life.

Yes, she IS 40...get over it! Hell, we're all getting old! Not all actresses who are in their 40's actually let themselves age naturally like Gillian has and that's only one of the reasons she such a rare and beautiful actress and human being. She looks amazing and is doing incredible work. Her work as Lady Dedlock was probably the finest I've seen of her since The X-Files, and I LOVE the X-Files. Yes, she looks thin, but that's probably from Bleak House (Lady Dedlock was so so frail looking) and the fact that she's been going through some rough times lately, which can happen to anyone, even if they are celebrities and have millions of dollars. Everyone has the right to have a bad day (...week...year...)

This was certainly a weird shoot -- if you look at much more recent photographs, she looks quite a bit younger. I like the dark, artistic aspect of these photos, but they really do not do her beauty justice. Google her and find something more up-to-date ... she's more luminous and enigmatic than ever!!

This ratty mess looks more like a drunk british hooker with a bad smoking habit. The long hair does look really good on her though. I would still prefer the smoking hot red-headed vixen from episodes like 3 of a Kind & Dreamland.

FYI, for all those saying she was/is over 40 or 45, she actually was 37 at the time of the photoshoot. She turns 40 next year (Aug. 2008) per IMDb. What a shame, hope she gets better advice in the future.

Jees, some of you dudes are brutal, and I think she is still hot. These photos were taken for a promotion for Bleak House, she was 37 at the time and she had done two movies and one play that had all required her to be thin and a bit drawn in appearance. She looks amazing now and most of the problems with this shoot were the lighting, which I think was done this way on purpose. I can't imagine why, but someone wanted that bluish tint in the lighting, which would make almost any actress look older and "wasted".

and btw, she has not had any lip work or any other "work" done. If you go back and check out Scully pics throughout the 9 year run of the XF, you'll see that she has always had gorgeous full lips.
