No, the oxytocin is already in your body. After 4-5 years with a partner, it starts to wear off - you become "immune" - of course you can still be attracted to your husband/wife but this is the chemical reason why the sexual attraction calms down. It's all about the chemicals in the body. This is the chemical reason for the "seven year itch" - or 5 year, or whatever. I have a friend that's been married for 14 years to his wife and he's still very attracted to her, so it certainly doesn't mean the end of good sex, attraction or anything. Anyway, I think it's good for people to be aware of this because it's natural and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with your relationship. It could also be her medication or a bunch of other things. For example, I was on the pill for about two months and it lowered my libido.
