Kara Tointon (born August 5, 1983 in Basildon, Essex) is a British actress, best known for playing Dawn Swann in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders.
Kara is 5ft 5in tall and has brown eyes. She was born in Basildon in Essex but shortly afterwards moved to Southend. Her younger sister Hannah is also an actress.
In April 2006 she featured as number 27 in the list of 100 sexiest women in the world, voted for the by the readers of FHM magazine.
In September 2006 she was voted sexiest female at the Inside Soap Awards.
Rumour has it she is currently dating Eastenders co-star James Alexandrou who plays Martin Fowler. [Wiki]

James Bourne's (21) ex girlfriend an actress; Kara Tointon (21), was with him on and off since he was 13, when busted first came out, they weren't together, but after You Said No hit the charts she was stuck all over him. Rumours had said they had broken up but James cast them aside "Kara is still my girlfriend and we have not split up" says James in a magazine interview.
They were seen arguing on America or Busted over the phone. (Where James at one point fell asleep)! But James still stoof by the fact that they had NOT broken up.
But on the day of the split Kara dumped James by phone and hurt him harshly, "Kara and I had been together for 18-months; our longest ever!" Quotes James. Soon after, one of Kara's friends said: (This quote has been edited) "Kara HAD been using James at one point to boost her fame, James really loved Kara, it was a shame for all this to happen..."
Cruelly, the press stated a joke to go along with the quotes made by Kara and her friend (Quotes have been edited).
Kara>> "...Still my fame is it's highest ever, I don't need James anyway!"
Press>> "Uh, sorry hun, who did you say you were?"
There were other rumours that James comfronted Kara in a club/pub, she told him she used him and he lost it and walked out in tears. Unfortunately i cannot state whether this alligation is true or not.
Eva is James' new girlfriend, and lets just hope they stay happy!
