The word "Paki" has no history in the US. It's a derogatory word in the UK because it's historically used as a derogatory word for South Asians there... who tend to be mostly Indians so it makes absolutely no sense anyway. Here it's just a short word for Pakistani, but I've never used it because it sounds like something low class people would say like "Jap." How difficult is it say Pakistani or Japanese?
