I would agree with you on Adriana maybe in 2006, but she definitely lost weight and some of her curves. Still gorgeous and not High Fashion Thin. My thinking is always that if slim-hip loving Chanel would hire you, you're too thin to be sexy. Chanel wouldn't hire Adriana right now, but they'd hire Alessandra.

Alessandra is gorgeous but she is DEFINITELY underweight. At 5'10" and 110 lbs according to her site at some point (123 is the highest weight I found for her), she is underweight and wouldn't be allowed to walk on some runways that now require that models have at least a BMI of 18.5. Her BMI is between 15.8 and 17.6 depending on which number you believe is her actual weight. She is one of very few models who actually has cited her weight and after watching two seasons of ANTM, I'm going to guess that she's 115-120.

Genetics, being abused (physically, emotionally or sexually) or otherwise molested or raped, environment, etc. increases people's risk of having an eating disorder. People with eating disorders of any type are very likely to suffer from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and other mental illnesses. People don't pay enough attention to the role of sexual abuse in eating disorders. Fiona Apple and Ricki Lake both out of the blue started struggling with weight and eating after being sexually assaulted. I'm not going to criticize people who are struggling with a serious mental illness and all sorts of trauma.
