I don't know how you feel about Kim Kardashian, but I don't think she would get as much flack as she does if she didn't date black men. Racists are racists, and they'll never change. This is 2008, and it's really sad that some people can't see past color.

You are so right on the money! It's absolutely pathetic. You would think by now people would have gotten a clue. Racism must be the new fad, especially thanks to the presidential race.

My 6-year-old daughter has already discovered racism. We're white, and a little black boy is "madly in love" with her. The other white kids tell her he can't like her because he's black, and she can't be friends with him, either. We live in a mixed, but very redneck, small town. She talked to me about it and I told her she can be friends with whomever she wants, regardless of color.

This is long-winded and corny, so please bear with me, but I told her that the world is God's garden and people are his flowers. And, God loves color, so he made white flowers, black flowers, yellow flowers, etc. I pointed out our garden and showed her how boring the green plants looked by themselves. Then, I showed her the multi-colored flowers and how beautiful and different they looked as a group.

Personally, I don't see a problem with mixed relationships. I am married to a white man, but I do find some black men extremely good-looking. We have several years to go before our daughter starts dating, but as long as a boy is good to her, we don't really care what color he is. There are some really bad white boys out there, too.
