Modeling agency stats can be way off, IMG just updated Gisele's profile to include her 27" inch waist. Girls as short as 5'4" are listed at 5'8" and 5'9", most people in the industry couldn't tell you exactly how tall a girl is, and most don't really care. Does the girl sell? Can she move product? Will she make us money? There are tons of girls listed at 5' 10", 11" and 34 24 34 who are not even close to those measurements.

I understand that a lot of men prefer women with wide hips but to be well-proportioned your hips should match your ribcage / bust. Ex-supermodel Elle "The Body" MacPherson has wide hips but her top matches her bottom. The more I look at the first picture here, the more I get the impression that Candice is stitched together by an upper body and a lower body that don't match up.

you're right d55, she's borderline "dysmorphic"...that's about as wide as you can get without being out of proportion. Her broad shoulders (which are wider than her hips btw) save her from being a very unfortuneate pear (esp with the no boobs).

No, it's not hard to have big hips, but it's not really about "just the hips".

It's about having a nice hip to waist ratio, which is not so common, as well as natural bone structure.

For instance:
Ruler girls who are fat, can have hips. Those who are thin, do not.
Pear and hour shaped glass girls. on the other hand, have hips while fat and slim.

Her face is alright, but I love her eyes and her body . They give her that extra kick...and her hair is flawless.

I have seen designers measure models and they always put the tape at the widest part which is right below the butt where the bones at the top of the thighs jut out of the side of the leg.

They don't include the butt because it is a "hip" measurement not an a*s measurement.

I took like the first picture that popped up in Google image search for both of them. But good luck finding a candid of Milla that can match that one of Doutzen.

Milla doesn't take that good candid pics but I've seen her on interviews, seen her in films where she has stupid ugly hair cuts, very little make up to no make up, bruised and bloody and she looks good. She even looked good in the fifth element where she had short scraggy ornage hair and her eyebrows were bleached too and her airbrushed pics are amazing.

I like doutzen's face too. It's very feminine and i agree with you that it deos make her a little boring. She reminds me of a little girl sometimes too. kinda like Alyssa Milano's face. But I think it's interesting how "too much perfection" often equals "boring". You have faces where you can't pick out one individual feature and say "this feature sucks" and yet the combined result of all those features are somewhat unsatisfactory. And then you have these faces where you can find obvious flaws in each individual feature and yet the symbiosis of those features create something extremely attractive and fascinating.

First, I still don't think Candice is a pear, watch her in person, or a video of her on the runway like VS 07, and she is a lot more of an hourglass than a pear, the girl is not that wide, her shoulders and hips are proportional, and has a narrow waist and ribcage. Like Gisele she accentuates this by bending her rather flexible lower spine.

Doutzen is far from perfect, she has overdone the collegen in her top lip, and has an awful lot of deep lines around her eyes for her age (yes they even airbrush candids, ofter) although her proportions are nice and classical.

She IS a pear shape. Pear shape doesn't mean you have small shoulders, Pear shape means your are bottom heavy and gain weight the most on your lower half. That is why pear shapes are so hippy and have small breasts.

Pear shapes are obvious, they look like 8 year old boys on the top and 50 year old women on the bottom.
