yea, I was never a big fan of this broad. She can look pretty good sometimes but I never found her sexy.

She is cute, there is nothing terribly wrong with her, but she simply is not a a bombshell, or even a supermodel looking girl to me. I think that VS has a problem that the industry has not done a good job of cultivating sexy, sultry, bombshell type girls. The trend toward generic, interchangeable girls has hurt them. Why do you think they are trying to recycle the older girls (aside from airbrushing), like Evangelista, and Elle, along with using a lot of celebrities, I mean God they have been using Teri Hatcher for high fashion, are you kidding? Kidman is becoming a Stepford wife but they keep running her out there.

Victoria's secret isn't about sex appeal. They market their products to women not men. They want a woman to look at their catalog and think that they can wear what VS sells. It's not playboy, the women aren't what makes them their money, it's the clothing.

And I think Miranda Kerr looks great and she's obviously a good enough model to have the dream modeling job or she wouldn't be an Angel. These pictures aren't the best but go look at some of the Adrianna Lima candids on this site.

@ 11. Sorry, Victoria's Secret IS ABOUT SEX APPEAL. They may make clothes for women, but men are a target audience too (they look at Victoria's Secret's catalogues much more than women and they also buy stuff for their girlfriends hoping they will look as good as the models while wearing the same lingerie). That tacky show they present every year, for instance...That is for men.

By the way, women also want to look sexy when they buy Victoria's Secret products.

#11 You are wrong, they are all about sex appeal, they want their models to be sex symbols, they want their models to be a fantasy that women aspire too. Pstroyer is right they have tried to market to a younger demographic, as Hollywood where they moved the show also has, and corporations in general.

However, they differentiate between their teen/twentysomthing lines, Pink, with their sexy brand philosophy of VS in general. There is a reasons that their ratings, and sales have been down, more than other retailers, and part of it is that as a whole their models are not as marketable as they once were. Again, Gisele, Tyra, Stephanie, Heidi (in her prime), Laetitia, they were international icons. Gisele is huge in Asia and the Middle East, they have taken a hit in that whole market, thus trying out new girls.

Actually, according to their annual report, VS's revenue has been steadily growing and they will continue to expand their business into the new year. It seems the drop has been only in the interest from the youngest demographic (which they are now trying to remedy). Overall, their business is stronger than ever. And viewing figures for the VS fashion show was dropping long before Tyra and Gisele left VS. In fact, 2007 was the first year the fashion show actually increased its viewing numbers in relation to the previous year (and that was without both Tyra and Gisele but admittedly (probably) helped by the Spice Girls).

i love her!!! but im more into cuteness than overt sexiness, that shit is so played out, and if it is to be done, please leave it to the brazilians and eastern europeans.

Victoria's Secret's sales are flopping because their lingerie quality is going to the shitter. I don't think it as anything to do with the models. Their underwear is becoming cheap and tacky and their new target is mall brats, simple as that.

Women buy it bcs they want to look sexy, but a realistic man "doesn't buy stuff for their girlfriends hoping they will look as good as the models while wearing the same lingerie". If a man loves his gf, he buys her sexy stuff to highlight her beauty.
Comparing girlfriend with these chicks is a stupid thing to do. Not because these models are awesome. It just doesn't makes sense. In the catalogs with airbrush and lots of make up, of course models look more beautiful than most of the girls.. But every logical man knows that they are not that perfect.
If a man buys his gf a lingerie just to see if she looks as good as gisele, tyra, lima while wearing the same thing....... Believe me this man has some psychological(complex) problems.
No need to exaggerate these model's beauty. They are just normal women.

It's true that VS markets primarily to females (of course) but "sexy" has always been an integral part of their brand. Just look at all their "What is sexy" commercials and their lingerie. However, after it became apparent that VS was losing touch with their youngest consumers, VS started to push a more "youthful" image. VS could have promoted someone like Doutzen Kroes to angel status, but I think they settled on Miranda because she, with her almost childish appeal, was a perfect fit for their new marketing ploy to regain the youngsters. If you compare VS catalogs nowadays to VS catalogs five years ago, there's a noticeable difference. Old VS catalogs were pervaded by a classy, mature and sexy image whereas the catalogs nowadays are filled with girly colors, cute puppies and lollipops. And the models are dressed like freakin bratz dolls. I hope they eventually go back to a more classy and sexy style (admittedly this year's Valentine's campaign and superbowl commercial look to be a good start).
