Mischa Barton, still bitter that The Beautiful Life was canceled says that we're going to miss out on some of the best stuff they filmed. Yeah, right.... keep telling yourself that Mischa.

“We were really such a great show and the first two episodes were nothing. We shot amazing, big episodes – episodes four, five and six – and it’s stuff that no one will ever see,”

“But they were unable to bring in an audience to it. It’s like they’ve got two other franchises going on there at the same time, and we got swallowed up. It’s more their loss, I think. It could’ve been I think a really, really cool show.” Source

Too bad for Mischa Barton that The Beautiful Life got canceled after two episodes. Too bad for us since Sara Paxton looked good in the promos. Anyways, Mischa took it pretty bad and is apparently very insecure about her acting career now.

"This show was such an ego boost for her at a time when she needed one. She has been insecure about where her career was going and feels she may be a has-been at 23," Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.


"She hasn't been overwhelmed with offers since 'The O.C.' went off the air. She needs to feel she's still employable. Right now, that's her deepest fear. That no one will hire her again. It's not true, but that's how insecure she can get sometimes," the source stated. Source

Tragedy nearly struck last week as New York Fashion Week came to a screeching halt. While walking to a fashion show with friends, Mischa had trouble walking on the cobbled stone walkway inside Bryant Park. Reports of possible damage to her $5,000 Louboutins are still being researched, but thankfully Mischa's walked away unscathed from the near career-shattering incident. Calls to her Mischa's agent for an update went unanswered.

After coming off suicidal psychiatric issues during which he had to be hospitalized in L.A., Mischa's slowly crawling her way back to recovery, so the last thing Mischa needs at this point in her career is an annoying sprained ankle. She currently stars in an Aston Kutcher-produced series titled "The Beautiful Life," which focuses attention on life in NYC's cracked-out, highly competitive fashion industry. The show premiered last week.

These were snapped over the weekend at the Mercedes Benz Spring, 09 Fashion Week in NYC

Mischa's trying to attend as many events as possible in an attempt to promote her new show on the WB network, "The Beautiful Life." The show will officially premiere later this week on Wednesday.

Here's the show's premise:

The life of a high-fashion model appears glamorous and sexy, but as every new model quickly learns, behind the beautiful façade is a world of insecurity and cut-throat competition. Two teenage models who are about to discover this world for themselves are Raina Mayer (Sara Paxton, "Last House on the Left"), a stunning beauty with a secret past, and Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth, "The Line"), a strikingly handsome Iowa farm boy.
When Raina makes an unforgettable impression at a show introducing the new line from designer Zac Posen (appearing in a cameo role), she steals the spotlight from her friend Sonja Stone (Mischa Barton, "The O.C."). Sonja has been out of the country for mysterious reasons and is now desperate to reclaim her standing as the reigning supermodel. While Raina and Sonja live at the top of the fashion food chain, Chris is starting at the bottom, having just been discovered by an agent at the Covet Modeling Agency, which is owned by former supermodel Claudia Foster (Elle Macpherson, "Friends"). So, is that a box of Parliaments down below or what?

The pics of Mischa in the white mini skirt were snapped a couple days back on the set of her new TV show "The Beautiful Life," which will premiere on the WB network on Wednesday, September 16th.

The other photos of Mischa smoking at a table were snapped just yesterday at the trendy Sant Ambroeus restaurant in the West Village. Curiously, cigarettes were completely absent from Mischa's hands the first couple weeks of filming, so either she doesn't give a shit about the cameras anymore or she recently picked up smoking (again) to help deal w/ stress in the big city (don't blame her).
