Bijou Phillips has had her sexy moments and worn tight dresses on the red carpet but still doesn't get much coverage on The Bastardly. However, if you've seen her in Havoc or Bully, you'll know she's worth checking out.Bijou Phillips @ "Dark Streets" L.A. Premiere

I don't know about you guys, but Bijou Phillips is just not doin' it for me in these pics. Actually, come to think of it, I mostly ignore pics of Bijou b/c she lacks the "G-G-God-D-D-D-D-aaamn" factor most of the women we dig here on Bastardly so beautifully possess. She can up her bastardly game by getting new boobies, face & ass or simply avoid showing up to events. Ok, ok, I'm being a little too harsh.
Anyway, here's a snynopsis of "Dark Streets" courtesy of Apple, where you can also view the trailer in HD.
When a naïve playboy investigates the shadowy death of his wealthy father, his charmed life as the eligible owner of the city’s hottest nightclub begins to spiral out of control. A noir fever dream of music, seduction and murder, DARK STREETS features stunningly choreographed dance numbers and an original soundtrack performed by legendary blues, jazz and R&B artists including Etta James, Natalie Cole, Dr. John, Aaron Neville, Solomon Burke, Chaka Khan, Richie Sambora and Marc Broussard.
Bijou Phillips @ "Choke" Screening in NYC

Review: ChokeVictor is so full of conflict and pain, he's barely able to breathe -- giving Choke endless symbolic opportunities to spew catharsis and enlightenment over the course of the film.
The problem arises when Gregg tries to capitalize on each bolus of emotional dissatisfaction and bring it to the screen. This is a small movie. It can only accommodate so much narrative complexity before it feels confused and fragmented, and Choke never finds the requisite rhythm to keep so much material in check.
Gregg not only fails to focus on a single plot, he fails to settle on an overall tone that could potentially unite the whole ponderous affair. One minute, he's being cheeky and sexy with flashes of Victor's previous squeezes, and the very next, he's pushing us into the deep end of Oedipal conflict.
It's kind of gross -- and not in a fun, entertaining, alternative hip way, either, despite the presence of cult-film-friendly Rockwell, and cool icon Anjelica Huston. Source

Review: 'What We Do Is Secret'The story of Darby Crash and the Germs, the influential but ill-fated punk band.
Full of dead-on performances and details, "Secret" puts you right in the mosh pit of the early punk era.
The film's faux-documentary style is a distraction, but it fades in and out. "Secret" is most compelling when the people and places of L.A. tell this tragic but somehow still ebullient story. Source
