The Miss Universe 2009 pageant isn't until August but current Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza, is definitely taking advantage of her reign until she gives up her crown. However, here's the mosted fucked up part about this year's pageant... the Wiki states that HEIDI MONTAG will "perform her latest song during the live final." WTF!!!!?? Hmm.. who'd she sleep with to get that gig?!?

As of May 2009, Mendoza as Miss Universe has traveled to Indonesia, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Italy, Spain, France, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Bahamas, Russia, Cuba, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Argentina and Vietnam, in addition to numerous trips around the USA and her homecoming in Venezuela.

Dayana Mendoza, the current Miss Universe from Venezuela, was at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas in part for the announcement that the Miss Universe Pageant for 2009 will take place there on August 30th.

Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, who was in the Bahamas for the first time, had already fallen in love with the beauty of Nassau and Paradise Island. “Coming to the Bahamas was one of my dreams, and I get to be here right now and I am very happy for that,” she said. “I am very happy that I am going to spend a month here enjoying and sharing with the whole world.” Source

The 22 year old Venezuelan hottie is the one & only 2008 Miss Universe! The last time we saw Dayana was at U.S. Green Building Council Gala (bullshit event Dayana's agents told her to attend) & it was here that Bastardly held a Hottie Matchup w/ Anna Kournikova. Quite surprisingly, Anna held her own fairly well b/c out of nearly 2500 votes, Dayana won by only 3% of total votes.

Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza Joins the Fight Against AIDS by Getting Tested for HIV

"As Miss Universe 2008, I support knowing your HIV status and will continue working on increasing HIV/AIDS awareness by focusing on women's health and reproductive rights. As a 22 year old woman, I am particularly invested in supporting young women and educating them about the growing threat of the AIDS epidemic," stated Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza.
