Elizabeth Hurley plans organic food line

Elizabeth Hurley was features in the October issue of Health magazine talking about her organic farm, which she shares with pigs, cows, chickens and sheep. But apparently her organic aspirations go beyond feeding her family: She tells People magazine that she’s starting a line of organic, low fat foods.

She says choosing healthy, organic foods may help prevent breast cancer and other health issues facing women. She already promotes a line of bacon produced by the pigs on her farm. Source

Elizabeth Hurley's gourmet hogs a hit in England

Over in the Cotswolds region of England, she is using her 100-acre estate to breed Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs. After she raises a healthy and hearty clan of squealers, she sells the meat to butchers in the UK.

This beautiful pig farmer's call to duty could have been predicted after her marriage to Arun Nayar at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire. Around that time, Liz said she was "obsessed with sausages," saying she'd "like to eat them every day."

The Hurley Old Spot pigs are quickly making a name for themselves: It is the most popular brand at the Jesse Smith butcher shop in Cirencester, AOL UK reported. Manager Perry Meredith told the Gloucestershire Echo that "her pigs are excellent quality."

Assistant manager Andy Lambert said, "Old Spots are our best-sellers, and people recognize the name. They must have heard she's gone into farming." Source

Elizabeth Hurley has perfected the art of red carpet glamour.

But even she succumbed to the lure of the free bar at last night's star-studded GQ Men of the Year awards and left the event looking uncharacteristically worse for wear.

The 43-year-old former actress arrived earlier looking her usual groomed to within an inch of her life self.

Liz Hurley to star in her own reality TV show about her farm

The fashion designer-and-actress lives on a farm in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, and the programme will follow her as she goes about her everyday life looking after chickens and sheep.

In the series, viewers will see Liz – who is famous for her flawless image - swap her designer clothes for a less glamorous wardrobe of torn jumpers and waterproof footwear.

She said: “People always imagine me with perfect hair. But that’s not who I am. The first time he saw me in the country, my husband found me in wellies, covered in mud.” Source

Hurley is currently planning the launch of her own range of low-fat organic food in partnership with an unrevealed organic food producer. The food, made from ingredients sourced from her 400-acre farm, and the recipes to be published in an accompanying cook book will be extremely low in fat. "What I really, really want to do is pre-packaged meals. Fabulous versions that are delicious, healthy, not too expensive and very low in fat.
