Ellen Page is the star in the new Drew Barrymore directed & produced movie "Whip It." Here's more about the movie:

A misfit girl named Bliss (Ellen Page) is constantly being pressured to enter beauty pageants by her mother. However, she feels this isn't something she's meant to do, and joins a roller derby league instead. She feels that these girls are her new heroes. She has no idea how to skate but Maggie Mayhem (Kristen Wiig), one of her teammates, tells her to be her own hero. This is a recurring theme in the movie. She then is determined to join their roller derby league. She realizes that she skates well, and in an effort to join the league, tells her parents she will be taking SAT preparation classes. Her mom believes her and is very happy she is taking some initiative in her life. When her mother finds out, everything will change. [Source]

These were snapped a couple nights back at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Nearly three decades after doing "E.T." together, director Steven Spielberg & Drew Barrymore hook up on the red carpet of "Whip It," a new movie which is directed & co-produced by Drew Barrymore herself & hitting theaters this tomorrow.

After looking up online reviews, I noticed a lot of people are digging this movie. Rotten & Meta Critic both rate it very favorably, so this one might just be worth checking out---assuming you're not into the other releases: "The Invention of Lying," which is produced & directed by the hilarious British comedian behind "The Office," Mr. Ricky Gervais or "Zombieland" with Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone & Amber Heard. Whatever the case, Drew Barrymore is up with some tough competition, but her name might just do the trick in scoring big at the box-office.

Ellen Page signs with Endeavor

Ellen Page has signed with Endeavor.

The actress had been repped by WMA, which guided her into her Oscar-nominated role in "Juno."

She continues to be managed by Kelly Bush through Vie Entertainment. Bush shifted from being Page's publicist to her manager several months ago. Page's press is now handled by other publicists at ID, with Bush overseeing. Her attorney is Kevin Yorn. [Variety]

It is somewhat hard to imagine the sarcastic "Smart People" star as the lead in this swooning Gothic romance penned by Charlotte Brontë, one of the most filmed novels in movie history.
