Emma Rigby is the Hollyoaks actress that was supposed to leave the show, saying she's looking forward to a new start having been on the show for four years since she was 15 years old. However, Emma has signed on for an additional six months. Who knows or cares what she'll be up to next...

“I’ve not had any auditions as yet but I’d love to do something in the West End. That’s what I’d like to do. Also some drama, some film - just get as much experience as possible. I’ve been doing the show for four years, since I was 15, and [it] has effectively been my training. I feel like the time’s right to leave and I’m really excited, although I will be sad to go. I’ll miss everybody. I’m looking forward to the New Year, though -new year, new start.” Source

Emma Rigby is set to leave Hollyoaks and says that she'll leave the show "in style". She's been on the show for 4 years and is looking to do more serious dramatic roles in the future.

"I'd love a huge leaving party. I'm thinking of a Saturday Night Fever theme. It's one of my favourite films

"You've got to do it in style. I'm going to miss people so much - I already feel sad about it. You'll have me in tears in a minute!

"I'd like to try something different. I'd love to do musical theatre such as Chicago or Les Miserables." Source

Emma Catherine Rigby (born in St Helens, Merseyside, England on 26 September 1989) is an English actress, best known for her role in Hollyoaks as Hannah Ashworth.

Although previously announced as due to leave Hollyoaks in June 2009 Emma has decided to renew her contract an extra 6 months - but sources close to her suggest she still intends to leave after October 2009. [Source]

Emma Catherine Rigby (born 26 September 1989) is an award winning English actress, best known for her role in Hollyoaks as Hannah Ashworth.

Born in St Helens, Merseyside, Rigby attended De La Salle High School in St Helens, but left in 2006 to take up her role in Hollyoaks. She took her GCSEs in 2006 and is reported[citation needed] to have received 9 A's and some A*, having a private tutor and studying hard whilst also maintaining her heavy and strenuous Hollyoaks filming schedule.
