The Bastardly Minute With... Leelee Sobieski

Leelee wrote a poem!
After the World Trade Center attacks of 9/11/2001, Sobieski appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She read her poem, "This Day And All The Rest", which is as follows:

One day.
One.
More than another.
The other,
that day,
those people,
too many,
too personal,
but not.
People you know know,
but you yourself know not.
Crashing down,
all frown,
hurting,
walking,
silently screaming,
slowly running,

One day. One. More than another. The other, that day, those people, too many, too personal, but not. People you know know, but you yourself know not. Crashing down, all frown, hurting, walking, silently screaming, slowly running, often feeling nothing. Seeing the lucky ones fleeing, seeing those trapped inside. Cry. Cry. It's OK. It's not OK. Smile if it's natural Feel alive. The president speaks, The situation reeks an act of war. I enter my room, close the door Sit here. Here where buildings do not fall to the floor. we young will experience much more future, liberty, the freedom to mope about in poetry. My brother I love you. Old friends and family too. Safe for now glad to know I'm alive with all of you. Feel what is real feel later heal. One. One person feeling the same as all the rest. Please let us act and do what is best. Wiki

EYES WIDE SHUT - NATIVE AMERICAN DREAMS FOR SOBIESKI
EYES WIDE SHUT star LEELEE SOBIESKI has a recurring dream in which she's a Native American woman.

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed New Yorker insists the dream is so vivid she's often startled when she wakes up and realises she's not hunting in a canoe.

She says, "When I close my eyes and imagine what I look like, I'm completely different.

"I imagine myself as a Native American in a canoe with a papoose around my neck and sitting alongside my warrior husband, my long black hair gliding through the water, my bow and arrow poised to shoot us some dinner.

"(Then) I see my light hair and light eyes and it freaks me out, like, 'Where's my inner Native American? Who took my canoe?'" Source

Bastardly Fashion Rating: Leelee Sobieski @ "Iron Man" Screening

These were snapped @ the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC

Besides 88 Minutes, believe it or not, but Leelee has another flick in the works for 2009. Night Train, listed as an action film, is already in post-production, so it's fairly obvious that Leelee's sleeping around w/ the right people! Kudos for that.

Sobieski’s cold call to Pacino seemed to last more than ‘88 Minutes’
As introductions go, Leelee Sobieski’s first encounter with Al Pacino could have been better.

The actress, who stars opposite Pacino in “88 Minutes,” which opens Friday, went to his rented Vancouver, British Columbia, home for a cast meeting.

“I was coming down with a cold,” said Sobieski. “Here I was, sick and coughing and I really shouldn’t have been seeing anybody. But I show up.”

Pacino greeted her and asked if she was the director’s assistant.

“I said, ‘No, no. I’m working in the movie.’ He asked what part I played and I said, ‘I play Lauren.’ He looked me up and down. ‘That’s a really good part,’ he said and walked away. I was so intimidated and really nervous.” [More @ Boston Herald]

Leelee Sobieski makes time count in '88 Minutes'
A date with fate is nothing new to 24-year-old actress Leelee Sobieski.

From that lucky moment in 1994 when a casting agent discovered Sobieski in the cafeteria of a New York City school at age 11, this blonde bombshell has delivered many great performances. Her roles have included Joan of Arc, a modern Lolita in Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" and the virginal Cécile de Volanges in "Les Liaisons dangereuses."

Fate also intervened in Sobieski's portrayal of Alberta, an endearing dominatrix in the 2007 Canadian film "Walk All Over Me." For more than a year director Robert Cuffley pursued Sobieski to star in this tale about a naïve girl who heads to the big city. After turning him down, Sobieski one day changed her mind. Fortuitously the part was still open when she called Cuffley. [CTV]
