So it's that time of year again for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala and so expect us to be flooding the site starting with this megapost of some of the attendees. Yes, we went the lazy route and decided to post a bunch of them at the same time. This year the theme was Schiaparelli and Prada "Impossible Conversations" and really we have no idea why. "Gossip Girl" Leighton Meester is enjoying some much needed R&R in Rio De Janeiro with her new boyfriend Aaron Himelstein. The couple were spotted hitting local street vendors for clothes & handmade crafts. Even though Leighton cat-walked around looking very anti-"Gossip Girl" without any makeup, bra, designer handbag or God forbid, even her $3000 Christian Louboutins were missing in action! Looks like someone was trying to keep a low profile and not risk getting kidnapped...

Besides doing some essential shopping & having endless amounts of "We-just-started-dating"-induced tantric sex, the couple also visited famous churches in Rio De Janeiro including Monastery of St. Benedict followed by the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Notable NYC fashionista Leighton Meester was seen taking her dog for a walk while taking a break from filming on the set of "Gossip Girl" yesterday afternoon. While Leighton has a cozy TV gig, Mischa Barton on the other hand, is doing her best make a comeback in 2012. The actress has a total of six projects in the works, with five projected for release this year, so it's fairly obvious that Mischa will sign her name to pretty much any gig that will pay a few bucks. Mischa was seen leaving Il Sole restaurant in West Hollywood last night.

Head across the pond, the always-fashionable BBC Radio 1 presenter Fearne Cotton was seen heading home after work. I know some of you haters will disagree, but I really dig this chick's fashion sense.

And finally, we have the heavily tattooed Kat Von D who was keeping a very low profile yesterday afternoon as she & a friend hit Liquid Juice Bar in West Hollywood.

The 2012 amfAR New York Gala took place last night at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC last night. Hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker (purposely left off this post), the black tie gala raised funds for AIDS research, prevention and education. Other attendees included Jennifer Hudson, Molly Sims, Roberto Cavalli, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Allen, to name a few. We have no idea how Lindsay got on the guest list. A couple male actors fared nicely on the "Gossip Girl" set in NYC over the past couple days with Chace Crawford landing a kiss on guest star Ella Rae Peck & Penn Badgley scoring one on co-star Leighton Meester. The scenes were filmed in NYC's upper east side for CW network's hit show, which aired its 100th episode on January 31st.

Of those 100 episodes, we have no idea what has taken place over that time so after hitting up the Wiki entry, we learn that Blake Lively' character, Serena, is planning her wedding while Jessica Szohr and Taylor Momsen are no longer regulars but Kaylee Defer is. All photos were taken over the past week around various parts of NYC. The pics above of a drunk Leighton Meester getting arrested were snapped late last week in Greenwich Village. Looks like someone's shooting for that Best Actress Emmy!

I can't stress the following enough, but I really feel that Leighton needs to finally dump TV and concentrate more on films b/c this chick can seriously act, damn it! And, I make that claim without having watched a single episode of "Gossip Girl."
