Loughlin, 43, will play Celia Mills, a wife, mom and photographer. She will have one biological child, a daughter played by Shenea Grimes, and an adoptive African-American son played by Tristan Wilds. Loughlin told People.com, "It's a contemporary family. It's fitting more of what's happening today in families."

Loughlin said the new show will be like the old show in that it will center on a group of high school teenagers dealing with the ups and downs of today's world. According to People.com, she said, "The spin-off is a whole new group of younger kids. They're what teenagers are going through now in high school, and I'm the mom," Loughlin says.
