Rather than simply opting for her usual tight mini-dress, she decided to pimp it out with some funky, cracked-out, "I'm-better-than-you" dress which probably took hours to put on.
Putting her fashion tastes to the side, I'm sure it's super annoying to be in Solange Knowles, but at the same time her industry network runs so deep that, at times, it appears as if she can't do anything but succeed. As some of you might know, Solange recently released her second album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, and for the most part, music critics are diggin' it. You can listen to some of the new tunes on her official site.
Here's her thoughts on being constantly asked about her relationship w/ Beyonce:
"I've answered that question and then that'll be the one thing from a 40-minute interview that gets any play. That is what becomes frustrating," she says. "It's a little repetitive." [Source]
On her new album:
"It's my sophomore album, but it really doesn't feel like it for me," says Ms. Knowles. "It really feels like my debut because, in this time, I literally, truly have become a totally different person. Being married, divorced, having a child, it's totally a different me, and the music is so different that I really feel like it's my debut." [Dallas News]

Solange Knowles comes into her own"I'm no sister," Solange declares during God Given Name, the swirling first track on Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams. Said sibling is never mentioned by name, but we know exactly who she's referring to.
It will be interesting to see if Solange gets a fair shake from listeners accustomed to neatly packaged R&B-pop princesses who accessorize tunes with guest rappers and tired samples. Solange is, at times, a bit too insistent on establishing her own identity ("I sound high, don't I?" she asks during one interlude), but Sol-Angel is, ultimately, the sound of an artist finding her voice and emerging from her sister's sequined shadow. Knowles has been promoting Baby Jamz, a hip-hop/rhythm inspired toy line for preschoolers. She is executive producer of the CD, updated hip-hop inspired nursery rhymes, and the music featured in all of the toys. Knowles' son, Julez, is the face of Baby Jamz.
She is currently working with a Private Equity firm to help finance special projects in distribution, promotions and marketing music with Music World Entertainment and Interscope. The Private Equity firm is focusing on buying and selling music licensing rights to the movie industry and consumer products like Coca-Cola, Alcohol beverages and Proctor & Gamble Company products.
