Cheaper gas not the answer
"This acts like a tax cut for consumers," said Gus Faucher, director of macroeconomics, Moody's Economy.com. "Consumers will have more money to spend on other types of things."

"We certainly need to do more than count on gas prices to bail us out," said Faucher. "The problems are much more severe than that.

"At $3 a gallon, we're back to neutral. I wouldn't see it as stimulating the economy," said Brian Bethune, chief U.S. financial economist for Global Insight.

"I think they'll say, 'Why should we assume this is permanent? It will only go back up again,' " he said. "In that case it will do little to affect behavior." Source

Kate Walsh Promotes "Private Practice" in NYC

'Private Practice' Investigates More Moral Issues
Kate Walsh, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery, also spoke about the new matters that the Oceanside Wellness Group has to confront this season. “They're all viable conflicts grounded in these medical stories,” she said.

However, with everything fresh coming in as the show was renewed, audiences will still be treated to the familiar zest brought by the cast and crew. “It's topical but not so procedural that it's not a Shonda Rhimes show. You still have all the great dialogue and characters and stories and romance,” Walsh declared. Source

'Private Practice' explores bioethical decisions
"We're telling stories ... that will provide a lot of moral debate among our doctors and maybe debate at home when you watch," said series creator Shonda Rhimes.

The issues they face cause plenty of drama for the doctors at the Oceanside Wellness Group, where Kate Walsh's character, Addison Montgomery, came to work after leaving "Grey's" Seattle Grace Hospital.

"They're all viable conflicts ... grounded in these medical stories," Walsh said. "It's topical but not so procedural that it's not a Shonda Rhimes show. You still have all the great dialogue and characters and stories and romance." Source

Kate Walsh Talks About Addison’s New Love Life
“Addison around Officer Nelson, the SWAT guy, is so different than what comes out around Pete (Tim Daly) or [Grey's Anatomy's] Derek (Patrick Dempsey) or Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) or anyone else that you’ve seen,” she said. “It’s really fun to see this total other side of her come out that we never saw. It hit me, this little epiphany of like, ‘Oh, we’ve never seen Addison into someone or someone that likes her back.’”

Walsh revealed that Addison is also stronger and more centered after finally adjusting to her life after relocating to Santa Monica. “Initially in those first nine episodes she’s still getting her footing, still isn’t quite sure and a little wobbly, and then you see that she’s got her groove back.” People

Press tour: No escape for Katherine Heigl
Grey's Anatomy spinoff Private Practice did not work as well as McPherson hoped in its rookie season. So he has ordered changes in the show's direction. There will be less cutting up in the break room and more cutting in the operating room.

"The best episodes of the show were when medical dramas were juxtaposed against the personal stories," McPherson said. "When it just became kind of a soap opera about these people's lives, there was a lot of talking, a lot of time in the coffee room talking about their angst. That's not the show. We're going to get (Kate Walsh's) character back to actually doing surgery." Source
